Awad elected president of Association for Surgical Education
Surgeon mentors, educates medical trainees
Michael Awad, MD, PhD, a professor of surgery at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, has been named president of the Association for Surgical Education.
Awad directs the Washington University Institute for Surgical Education (WISE), which is accredited by the American College of Surgeons. He also directs the WISE Simulation Fellowship and serves as an associate program director for the general surgery residency. Additionally, Awad serves as head of the Barnes-Jewish Hospital Robotics Steering Committee and director of Robotic Surgery for BJC HealthCare.
