Bagnall awarded Sloan Research Fellowship

Neuroscientist recognized for promising early-career research

March 14, 2016

Martha Bagnall, PhD, an assistant professor of neuroscience, has received a prestigious 2016 Sloan Research Fellowship, which supports promising early-career scientists. Her lab studies how the brain and spinal cord work together to maintain balance and posture.

Bagnall was one of 126 scientists and scholars throughout the U.S. and Canada to receive the award and the only recipient in Missouri. The fellowship, awarded through the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, provides $55,000 to each investigator to further their basic science research.

Learn more about Bagnall’s research and her experience as a woman in science in this interview with Charlie Brennan on KMOX (1120 AM).
