Heiden to receive award from cancer research group
Surgical resident recognized by American Society of Clinical Oncology
Brendan Heiden, MD, a surgical resident and cardiothoracic surgery research fellow at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, will receive the Harborside Endowed Merit Award from Conquer Cancer, the foundation of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).
The honor supports oncology trainees who have helped advance research within the cancer care community. Much of Heiden’s research focuses on the treatment of early-stage non-small cell lung cancer. Heiden will be recognized during the American Society of Clinical Oncology Annual Meeting June 3-7 in Chicago. During that meeting, their group will also present novel research in the lung cancer oral abstract session on June 5.
