Kwon named National Academy of Medicine fellow

Fellowship will focus on critical issues in medicine and public health

November 22, 2016

Jennie H. Kwon, DO, has been selected as a 2016 National Academy of Medicine fellow in osteopathic medicine. Kwon, an instructor of medicine in infectious diseases at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, was chosen based on her scholarship, professional accomplishments and expertise.

During the two-year fellowship, Kwon, who also is an epidemiologist at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, will work with the academy’s expert committees and roundtables to research important questions in infectious diseases and public health, and provide evidence-based guidance to policymakers, academic leaders, health-care administrators and the public.

The fellowship includes a stipend and complements Kwon’s research, which focuses on the fecal microbiome in patients with multidrug-resistant infections, and how multidrug-resistant organisms are transmitted in health-care settings, the community and the environment.
