Moron-Concepcion appointed to NIH advisory board
Named to Dental and Craniofacial Research Council
Jose Moron-Concepcion, PhD, the Henry E. Mallinckrodt Professor of Anesthesiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, has been appointed to a four-year term on the National Advisory Dental and Craniofacial Research Council. The council is an extension of the National Institute for Dental and Craniofacial Research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
A Washington University Pain Center investigator, Moron-Concepcion is a leader in the field of pain and opioid addiction research. He also is a professor of neuroscience and of psychiatry. In his new advisory role, he will be part of a group of national leaders that advises the director of the Department of Health and Human Services and the director of the National Institute for Dental and Craniofacial Research on matters relating to research, research support, training and career development.
Moron-Concepcion directs the Division of Basic Research in the Department of Anesthesiology. His laboratory focuses on understanding the mechanisms underlying opioid addiction and its intersection with pain.
