Noelker receives teaching award in emergency medicine
Honor recognizes outstanding educators who have advanced the specialty
Joan Noelker, MD, an assistant professor in emergency medicine at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, has received the National Emergency Medicine Junior Faculty Teaching Award from the American College of Emergency Physicians.
This award recognizes outstanding educators in emergency medicine who have advanced the specialty. Noelker is being honored for excellence in teaching, development of innovative educational programs, involvement in community education, and contributions to regional and global programs.
Noelker also is an assistant program director for the emergency medicine residency and a member of two curriculum committees at the medical school. Additionally, she is a member of the advisory board for the school’s newly created Teaching Scholars Program, which this fall will provide faculty with training in educational theory, curriculum design and leadership and other skills.
