Physical therapy association honors Earhart
Named a Catherine Worthingham Fellow, the group's highest honor

Gammon Earhart, PhD, director of the Program in Physical Therapy at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, has been named a Catherine Worthingham Fellow of the American Physical Therapy Association.
The award, the association’s highest honor, serves as an inspiration for physical therapists to attain professional excellence and recognizes physical therapists who have demonstrated unwavering efforts to advance the physical therapy profession for more than 15 years.
Earhart, also a professor of neurology and of neuroscience, studies movement in people with neurodegenerative diseases. Her studies focus not just on understanding basic mechanisms of nervous system movement control, but also on the design and testing of novel interventions such as dancing and singing that leverage these mechanisms to enhance movement among people with Parkinson’s disease.
