Woodard named to American College of Radiology board
Will serve as chair of Board of Chancellors' Commission on Research
Pamela K. Woodard, MD, a professor of radiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and the university’s Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR), has been appointed to the Board of Chancellors of the American College of Radiology (ACR).
Woodard will serve as chair of the board’s Commission on Research and provide leadership to the ACR Center for Research and Innovation. She also will serve as a member of the Budget and Finance Committee, and as the ACR’s representative to the board of the Academy of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging Research (ARBIR), where she serves on the Executive Committee.
The ACR represents more than 38,000 radiologists, radiation oncologists, nuclear medicine physicians and medical physicists. The organization aims to empower members to advance the practice, science and professions of radiological care, and its Board of Chancellors works to implement the organization’s policy goals.
Among Woodard’s other roles at the School of Medicine, she is senior vice chair and division director of Research Imaging Facilities at MIR, director of the Center for Clinical Imaging Research, head of Advanced Cardiac Imaging (MR/CT), and is also a professor of biomedical engineering.
