Affiliated Hospitals & Centers

Our clinical partnerships are essential to providing quality care throughout the region and training the physicians and specialists who will continue excellent care for future generations.

As an academic medical provider, we partner with hospitals and health care centers where WashU Medicine physicians care for patients and train medical students, residents and fellows. Many of our partners – including Barnes-Jewish Hospital and St. Louis Children’s Hospital – are located on the Washington University Medical Campus, though our physicians see patients at locations across the St. Louis region, in both Missouri and Illinois.

In addition to our hospital partners, our corporate partners include BJC HealthCare, a consortium of healthcare providers that includes several of our teaching hospitals.

Barnes-Jewish Hospital

The largest hospital in Missouri, Barnes-Jewish Hospital provides extensive clinical experience for medical students and trainees. The hospital has ranked on the U.S. News & World Report honor roll of the nation’s best hospitals since 1993. WashU Medicine physicians make up the hospital’s medical staff.

Alvin J. Siteman Cancer Center

WashU Medicine scientists and physicians care for 12,000 newly diagnosed cancer patients each year at the Siteman Cancer Center — based at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and WashU Medicine. Siteman is one of 48 National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers. The center pursues an active outreach program of cancer screening and education in the St. Louis community that involves tens of thousands of people annually.

The Gary C. Werths Building at Siteman Cancer Center opened for patient care in 2024. The building design simplifies the experience of patients as they receive outpatient care. It offers a dedicated garage, floors dedicated by cancer type that house labs and consultation rooms, infusion services and more.
